About Choice Plus Network
The Choice Plus Network is a professional association of community-based physicians from the Greater Lawrence area in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts. Membership in the Choice Plus Network is offered to all physicians with medical staff privileges at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Challenge
The existing Choice Plus site had a straightforward, but dull interface. A competent PostgresSQL database was used as the backend for the participating physicians list. Most importantly, though was the lack of updates: as a professional network, Choice Plus sought to keep its members up to date with regular postings.
Solution
Ashdown Technologies began by keeping the straightforward content structure that was in place, and jazzing up the visuals. Flash animation was used to add a level of motion graphics to the header.
EZList technology was used in two places, on the front page, for a Latest Updates page, and on the What's New page, which also contains PDF newsletters. The straightforward, what-you-see-is-what-you-get interface allowed for easy updates by the Choice Plus staff without the hassle of understanding background code or databases.
